National Symbol Word Art

Some shapes carry a whole country without drawing its borders. The National Symbols collection gathers the emblems people wear, fly, and hand down: Lithuania's Vytis knight, Poland's crowned White Eagle, Germany's Bundesadler, Ireland's Celtic harp, France's Gallic rooster, the fleur-de-lis it shares with Québec and New Orleans, New Zealand's silver fern and kiwi, Canada's maple leaf, Australia's kangaroo, the Welsh dragon, a Dutch windmill, a Japanese torii gate, and a heraldic spread-wing eagle for any family crest. Each one is ready to be filled with words of your own.

These designs live closest to emigrant families. Fill the old country's emblem with the family surname, the ancestral town, the year a grandparent left, and the language the holidays are still spoken in — diacritics render exactly as you type them, so LAISVĖ and WOLNOŚĆ keep their marks. Mark the country's name or the family name as featured and it renders larger, anchoring the design. Independence days, national days, and heritage festivals all give the print a date to arrive by; so does a milestone birthday.

Everything is free, with no account to create, and it runs entirely in your browser — family names never leave your device. Choose fonts, colors, palettes, and gradients (flag colors and single heraldic tones both work), pick the readable line-flow layout or the packed word-cloud fill, and export a high-resolution PNG up to 4K, with or without a background, ready to frame.

National Symbols word art — common questions

Which symbol stands for which country or heritage?

Most are official or much-loved emblems: the Vytis knight for Lithuania, the crowned White Eagle for Poland, the Bundesadler for Germany, the Celtic harp for Ireland, the Gallic rooster for France, the silver fern and kiwi for New Zealand, the maple leaf for Canada, the kangaroo for Australia, the dragon for Wales, the windmill for the Netherlands, and the torii gate for Japan. The fleur-de-lis ranges wider — France, Québec, New Orleans, scouting — and the heraldic spread-wing eagle is deliberately unassigned, ready for any family crest.

Will Lithuanian, Polish, or other special characters render correctly?

Yes. Words render exactly as you type them, diacritics included — TĖVYNĖ, NIEPODLEGŁA, GEMÜTLICHKEIT, and SLÁINTE all keep their marks. Mixing two languages in one design works well too; many families fill an emblem with the old language and English side by side, the way the household actually speaks.

Do the colors have to match the flag?

No. Flag colors are the natural starting point, and a palette or gradient gets you there quickly, but a single heraldic tone — black, gold, deep red — often reads more like an engraved emblem. You can also export the PNG with a transparent background and let the paper or the frame supply the color.

Is a national symbol print a good national-day gift?

It is one of the most fitting uses. Fill the emblem with family surnames, ancestral towns, the year someone emigrated, and the words the family still uses, then star one or two so they render larger. The design exports as a high-resolution PNG up to 4K, sharp enough to frame, and because TextShape is free with no account and works on phones, it can be made the same week the day arrives.
