Terms of Service
Last updated: July 14, 2026
The short version
You own everything you make.TextShape is a free tool that turns your words into art, right in your browser — I don't claim any rights to your text, your images, or your finished designs. Use it for anything lawful, don't upload things you don't have the rights to, and understand that it's provided as is.
1. Agreement to these Terms
TextShape is made and run by me, Gediminas ("I," "me," or "my"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and me for using the word art generator at textshape.app and the TextShape app for Canva (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Service.
2. What TextShape is
TextShape turns the words you type into art that fills a shape — an image you upload, a word used as an outline, or a ready-made shape — as a word cloud or in readable lines. It's free to use.
The core of the tool runs entirely in your browser: your images and text are processed on your device, not on my servers. My Privacy Policy explains this in detail.
3. Your content and ownership
You keep all rights to the words you type, the images you upload, and the art you create with TextShape. I don't claim ownership of any of it, and I don't take a license to it — because your content generally never reaches me in the first place. The one exception is if you choose to share a design to the public gallery (section 5), which is entirely opt-in.
You're responsible for the content you use. Only upload images and text that you have the right to use, and make sure the art you create, and how you use it, doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
4. Acceptable use
Please use TextShape lawfully and reasonably. In particular, don't:
- upload or create content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- create content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or that invades another person's privacy;
- use the Service to break the law or to harm others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or otherwise misuse the Service or the systems it runs on.
5. Gallery submissions
Sharing a design to the public gallery is optional. When you share, you confirm that you made the design (or have the right to share it) and that you agree to display it publicly. Every submission is reviewed, and I may decline or remove anything that doesn't fit. To take a shared design down, email [email protected] with the gallery link. See the Gallery section of the Privacy Policy for more.
6. TextShape for Canva
When you use TextShape inside Canva, your use of Canva itself is governed by Canva's Terms of Use. The TextShape app adds the finished word-art image to your Canva design through Canva's official APIs, and it carries no analytics, advertising, or tracking. What you create with it is yours, subject to these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The TextShape name, the site, its design, and the software behind it are mine and are protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms don't give you any right to use the TextShape name or branding beyond using the Service as intended. This doesn't affect your ownership of the art you make — that stays yours, as described in section 3.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
TextShape is a personal project I offer for free. I may change, add, or remove features, or pause or discontinue the Service, at any time and without notice. I work to keep it running well, but I can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use TextShape at your own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, I won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because TextShape is free, my total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited accordingly.
11. Changes to these Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. I'll note any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, head to my About page for ways to reach me.
